For the first time, followed by a semester of earnest dedication to creativity, Vertigo is proud to receive the REALM award in February 2025. This national recognition from the National Council of Teachers of English applauds the many hours writers have spent at Peets Coffee, the picnics where artists bathed in the sun, and the proud work we have published in our treasured magazine. Thank you to everyone who made this recognition possible: our advisor Mrs. Choi, our dedicated writers and artists, and alumni whose inspiration never leaves us.
This spring, we are excited to introduce our issue, Petrichor, a small glimpse into the blossoming season.
Like the sounds of soft-pelted rain, we’ve clicked at our keyboards, drawn with sharp pens and pencils, inviting you to experience the future’s sweet scent. Follow us to jasmine-tea-lined coffee tables, slow winding drives to Arizona, hands sticky with Elmers glue. Lie with us under fish-strung skies and portraits of lilly pads.
And so, dear reader, will you dance with us in this after-rain?
With love, your 24-25 Editors-in-Chief,
Bethanie Lee and Emily Pedroza
