Slipping through my Fingers

Slipping through my Fingers

Mina Chao | Art by Vivian Chen

melody ringing in his ears

grasping blindly in the haze

hands around her waist

(he knows the moment is fleeting.)

the bow draws across the strings

and fragile bodies draw together

letting the light drown the world

(a single shadow on the wall.)

paint dripping down the creaky walls

halls resounding with muddled harmonies

they reach for each other a last time

(eyes closed and hearts crossed.)

the hum of the final chords

echoing the empty chamber

an aftertaste of memories

(dissolving in the rain.)

fine.
