Red

The raven’s cry stains her ears with blood. Afar, smoke rises as red soaks the ground. A silence follows and lingers with dread.
The moonlight cautiously unfolds itself, Divulging a glow that offers guidance home. However, she knows not to follow. For every marked trail leads to an end, And she prays not for an ending yet. The moon and its bleeding light– nothing but a fatal illusion. She steps foot into the forest.
Gravel and timber lacerate her feet, Mirroring knives through flesh Painting endless strokes of red. The same bold, majestic red– Echos of the gunshot ring in her ears.
Then the raven’s cry Screaming in her ears: We are all nothing but temporary. Her footsteps surrender to oblivion
